Imbolc - a poem in honor of the Goddess Brigid

In a far away land,
where oak trees are sacred,
and grow plenty
Sun rays gently touch my skin.
A candle flame lightens my spirit,
Hot blue within, transformation is forged.
In ice cold nights of winter,
Your fire warms my being.
Your red fire mantle engulfs my body,
healing, changing.
Spring waters slowly absorbed,
into an aging body, charging, renewing.
Goat milk to you I offer, through an apple tree,
for a limitless connection.
Waiting for the bees of spring.
Blessed be.

Yule Labyrinth

Our group celebrated Yule a little late this year, on Friday January 1st 2010 after a Full Blue moon on December 31st. But the Blue moon's energy was still there.
After the ritual indoors we went to walk the labyrintth, which we had made with white flour some hours before. For me it was a very powerful experience walking this labyrinth on this night. It also clarified the insights of the trance and the card divination. Blessings on the year of the Empress. Arie

Runes and Stars

Last week I attended a lecture on Astrology.
The person giving the lecture, drew a star constellation, composed of straight lines.
At that moment I did get an insight.
The Runes may mean also star constellations.
Why would I assume this?
Some time ago I aspected the God Odin. While aspecting I started drawing with my finger on the air straight lines.
At that time I did not know what they meant. Maybe the Runes themselves.
I had started in the south and ended up in the north going clockwise.
Maybe the runes do mean, in addition to the known meanings, star constellations?
No the ones we know. But different ones?
Something to think about...

Yule season blessings.

Permaculture and Pigeon Manure

Today I had to go up to the roof to clear the water spout which was blocked due to pigeon manure. I had a swimming pool on the roof.
I do this every year when the rain comes.
SO I decided to clear also the corner of the heating boiler which was full of pigeon manure. I collected about 3 full buckets of it.
Then I put some manure near each tree in my garden.
The trees really like this. They bear much juicer and larger fruits. Apples, Lemons, Figs and Nactarine.
It seems that pigeon manure has similar properties to chicken manure.
It felt great. Nothing is wasted.
In addition I have a food residue pile covered with dry leaves. With lots of insects living from it. When it all turns black I put it near the trees.
I have also noticed more earth worms that weren't there when I moved in to this house.
Here and there I discover a new insect species.
I love being in the garden and composting.
Blessings

Evolution - Devolution?

Some weeks ago, I visited a Pre-Historic museum.

The person in charge of the museum had been collecting the items showed, for about 60years. he must have been in his 80's.

An amazing person. An idealist. Hard to find these days.

The most important thing I learned, was that the so called 'primitives" did not waste anything. Everything was used in producing various articrafts.

They showed great respect to the living environment.

No mistakes where allowed as his/her life where dependent on it. Like making fire in a couple of seconds and hunting.

They made simple but ingenious instruments, that would take a modern person a very long time to produce.

So by polluting this planet can we call ourselves evoluting? Or Devoluting??

Any species that overgrow their maximum growth limit, become extinc.

Where are we heading to?
